What digital photography really gave to the events industry was the ability to print onsite. To be able to offer a photographic memento to take home on the day adds value to any event. However, while many events have been enjoying this service for nearly a decade, individual mass participation events such as walking, running and cycling events have been left behind. When I started in the event photography industry in California over ten years ago, digital photography was still relatively new and much of my early work involved helping events switch from traditional to digital photography.
