Great Notts Bike Ride

Over 4,000 keen cyclists were out in force to take part in this year’s Great Nottinghamshire Bike Ride on Sunday 20 June. Cyclists would have seen the My Bib Number photographers en route, asking for a smile and a wave as we snapped away. We took more than 20,000 photographs on the day and they are all online now for you to see. To find all of the photographs you appear in simply click here to visit the Great Nottinghamshire Bike Ride event gallery page (or select it from the list of events on the home page), type your bib number into the search box and hit enter.

Don’t worry if your bib number was obscured or on your back as you can search by helmet colour too. Type in the colour of your helmet, in the same way you would bib number, and then hit enter. Searchable helmet colours are black, blue, silver, red, pink, white, yellow, green, orange, purple and grey. If you were not wearing a helmet on the ride type in ‘no’ and if you were wearing a hat enter ‘hat’. Those of you that donned fancy dress outfits for the day and want to find the photos you star in should enter ‘no’ into the search box. To find all photographs with unrecognisable bib numbers enter 0 into the search box.

Beginning and ending at the National Watersports Centre near Nottingham, cyclists embarked on a variety of rides including a family lap challenge, 18-mile community ride and 50-mile challenge route. Those that really wanted to push themselves to the limit could opt for the 75-mile sportive route.

As the photographs show, a day of glorious sunshine was enjoyed by all participating in the 29th year of the event, with cyclists lapping up the rays as they made their way along the picturesque route. There were smiles all round on the day, whether participants were completing the ride for charity, fitness or just a fun day out for all the family. Plenty of impressive fancy dress costumes could also be seen amongst the crowd, from Smurfs through to superheroes.

Once the ride was completed there was plenty of entertainment to enjoy including live music, bouncy castles and rodeo bull rides. Cyclists in need of an energy boost after all the strenuous activity appreciated the free smoothies on offer, all made by a pedal powered blender.

We hope you all enjoyed the day and look forward to seeing you at the next event!
